Carver Theater

The Historic Carver Theater reopened its doors as a live performance venue on April 30th, 2014.

This newly restored iconic sign comes from the original theater, which operated as a first-rate movie theater for Americans from the 1950s to the 1980.

ReFresh is Open for Business

The ReFresh Project is open for business! Whole Foods Market, Liberty’s Kitchen, Firstline Charter Schools, Boystown, Crescent City Community Land Trust, Broad Community Connections, and the Tulane Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine are all operating at 300 N. Broad Street. The ReFresh Community Farm is located around the perimeter of the building and on the roof and will begin programming in January 2015.

ReFresh is a project of NEWCITY partners Broad Community Connections and L+M Development Partners that converted the vacant former Schwegmann’s grocery on Broad and Bienville into a fresh food hub.

The rest of the development’s businesses and tenants are scheduled to move in this spring/summer. ReFresh will have community meeting space, community gardens, and health & wellness programming!
